Wind Symphony

Under the direction of Jeremy DeWinter, the Reedy Wind Symphony is an ensemble consisting of musicians who perform quality wind literature.  This ensemble is double-blocked 4th period.  In the fall semester, this ensemble consists of 10th-12th graders, and in the spring it consists of 9th-12th graders.

Participation in the Wind Symphony requires a substantial amount of dedication on the part of its members. Enrollment in private lessons is strongly encouraged. Performances will include UIL, one or more invitational festivals, and one or two concerts in the spring. In addition, extra rehearsals and clinics are occasionally scheduled along with sectionals in the spring semester. Students in the Wind Symphony are strongly encouraged to audition for All-Region Band in the fall and are required to participate in the Solo & Ensemble contest with an appropriate level solo and ensemble.
